HEY I HAVEN’T REALLY MENTIONED THIS IN THE COMIC YET, but they are actually roommates at this point, because Jan would probably starve or roll off a cliff or something if left to his own devices in Japan, but Ren had no idea what to do with him so he was like HEY SHIGERU COULD YOU PLEASE…and shigeru was like I…GUESS???
Shigeru tries to keep him as occupied as he can, but they have no idea how to talk to each other. This makes him feel kind of bad, so he’s always looking for things for Jan to do. Jan spends a lot of time on his laptop skyping with friends from Germany (he is secretly very homesick) and worries Shigeru thinks he’s annoying. THEY ARE WORKING ON BEING SUPER GOOD BUDDIES, THOUGH. THEY ARE WORKING VERY HARD.
Another fun fact: they live in the apartment right about taro/jiro/taisei’s
